Our Story - Meet The Owners: Daniel and Charlotte
Despite having both grown up in Bournemouth, we didn’t meet until we found one another on the other side of the world in Australia. We were both travelling, exploring our passions for food and travel when we discovered a shared ambition of one day opening our own restaurant. And now, that is our reality. Since returning to the UK we dedicated every moment of our time to creating Koi Sakana to be a place that offers people everything that we love - what’s not to enjoy about tasty small plates and great wine? We have transformed our special space, No. 1 The Triangle, doing all of the renovations ourselves and getting by with a little help from our friends. We can’t wait to share it with you!
Our Menu - Seasonal Sustainable Seafood
We offer local produce that celebrates seafood in all of its glory! Our dishes are designed to be shared and savoured, perfect for when everything looks so good that you can’t decide... Our small plate ethos is ideal for social dining, but we won’t judge if sharing is not your thing either! Our fusion menu is inspired by our travels in Australia, celebrating dishes we enjoyed together, and will be cooked with traditional and Japanese techniques. Koi Sakana is Japanese for Love Fish, and that we sure do!
